Even though we think our website is tops, we still have appreciation for the work of others. One of our favorite duos on the blog seen is the Chicks with Kicks, who live virtually over on highsnobiety.com. Why are blokes interested in women's fashion? Well, to be fair, we aren't really. But SGP and Lois tackle the issues with such good humor and an uncompromising eye for design that we just can't turn away. Their column is brilliant.

Lois writes for a variety of fashion rags, most notably for our purposes Sneaker Intelligence and the new ladies mag, MissBehave (the sister publication to Mass Appeal). She also does some other awesome and secret work related to Wall Street. Her partner (in blogging), SGP, has an extensive background in PR and Marketing and currently holds it down for RBK and does some moonlighting at Femalesneakerfreak. Together they are chicks with kicks, and we have to admit we were really excited when they said they would share some time with us.

Despite what our friend TWISE says, women are not just for breaking our hearts. Many of them (listen TWISE!) offer sage advice on various important topics much like the CWK did when they met with us. Read on…

Why do some many women insist on wearing Ugg boots?

Sgp- oooh don't get me started on the Urban trends...ok seriously I think it has to do with the fascination of women with what celebrities are wearing; I say make your own trend!!!  It's the most unflattering shoe…. My friends who own them say they are comfortable and keep feet warm...What's the idea of rocking them with a strappy Sundress… I cannot stand the overkill, I Blame the Starlets!!!

Lois: It's just another fashion trend, but what fascinates me is how much they seem to irritate guys! If it's any consolation, Arnold, I think they're definitely dying out. Though I've said that every year for the past three years and still they seem to hang on in there!!

Are you in agreement that flip flops in an urban environment are a no?

SGP-Oh my gosh..... I live in Flip Flops in the Summer Although I do not agree with Super Bright beachy looking ones, Worn Properly it can be quite a sleek look? I think It has to just be appropriate. A day in the park. shopping..casual hangout..ect..Just please, please don't wear them to the club!!!

Lois: I've been sick of flip-flops for a while now so yeah, they get a thumbs down from me, though it cracks me up when I see teenagers wearing them in the middle of the winter. Are they THAT oblivious or THAT determined to piss their parents the fuck off. I can't decide which it is.

What do you think about crocs?

Sgp-I Despise Them!!!!!   I've seen them With Socks too!!! THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN MANAGE TO LOOK CUTE IN THEM IS a 2 year old that's it I said it....

Lois: In general, I tend not to get my panties in a bunch over passing trends. They are what they are. However, since you asked, I think Crocs look pretty gross on adults, but when I was at the shoe show in Las Vegas in February, Crocs had a bunch of young, hot women wearing the MaryJane styles with jean shorts and then they looked totally adorable. They also look super cute on rugrats.

On a serious note, how did CWK start?

Sgp- aww...well you'd have to get the history from Lois...   I made a comment on one of her articles about the frustration out there of not enough kicks and cool apparel Collabos for women and mostly that there is a BIG stereotype concerning the women who rock kicks, collect them Vs. Stilettos…It's like we have to fit in a box…. she put me in touch w/David the master creator of Hs (who happens to be quite a cutie!!)

And we're here now doing our first interview together...you never know what the future holds…

Lois: David, who is the founder of HighSnobiety, thought it up. He then reached out to blogger Julie of Coutorture, letting her know he was looking for columnists for a girl's site and she reached out to me. (Thanks Julie!) Now it's just me and Samia, who reached out to us early on and has been a great addition. Her ear is way closer to the streets than me!

What is your connection to RBK?

Sgp-Ooh.... I happen to work for them... that's really it ... I have to say tough that working for a brand that is not the Hottest thing right now in the mainstream sneaker world....really helped me to see how brand focused people get, for the most part it's like put a swoosh on it and it's hot!!!

I found that there are very few who have a true Love of the "sneaker" being able to appreciate true design and true innovation it's a little scary....

Lois: I gots none. Other than the fact that I make fun of them a lot. Except for the Reebok Freestyle event, which KICKED ASS. Spinderalla was spinning--how could that have not have been hot???

Favorite kicks of all time?

SGP-to pick just one today.....it's a tie between the all silver freestyle hi, the adidas samba, and the ventilator

Of all time… I'm stuck on a pair of high top LA Gear  with the double shoe laces…I'm still looking for them…

Lois: Sorry, no all-time fave. The hottest shoe for me is always the shoe that I'm really into at the moment. Right now, I don't have a favorite pair, but my last favorites were a pair of snakeskin Nike Blazers, which I bought off of Ebay. I still have 'em, but I'm kinda over 'em. I just got a pair of custom Reeboks for a story I'm writing, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about them.

On a man, what kicks attract the attention of CWK?

SGP-hmm...they have to be fresh, the brand does not really matter it's how you rock em!! old beatup NB just don't do it no matter cute you are..

The guy that gets me is the one who can rock 'em in a sleek way.. like w/a suit that takes skill!!!

It's like put some thought into you don't need the latest Alife collabo kicks to be hot either...not that there is anything wrong with Alife kicks.. but just wearing a hot pair when everything else is dull...does not get you noticed it's that certain swagger ...

Lois: I've always liked a guy who wears kicks that are simple, but still clearly ahead of whatever trend is piping hot. Still, there's so much more to the equation than just the shoes!  If he lacks that certain swagger that I love, then the sweetest kicks in the world won't mean a thing. Give me a man who's self-confident, smart and kicks a sincere verbal game and he can wear Reeboks he bought at Costco for all I care. Well, maybe not Reeboks. Ya gotta have SOME standards!

Of all the current trends, which do you wish would just fade away?

SGP-For guys the all over print super bright hoodie has died for me let it go..please...

And then super loose clothing on a grown man, when you have to wonder where the body starts and the clothing ends...

Ooh …and wearing your pants so low that you cannot walk properly …the puff of your boxers on top of your pants is just not a good look….

For girls...wearing leggings as full-on pants is just not cute...even the Olsen twins don't wear them that way...I think the idea was to Layer..not expose all the goods to the world…

And..oh yes the baby doll dresses... let's end it... I get the whole "Mod" inspiration but it really flatters very few women most girls end up looking pregnant in them...

Lois: All-over print hoodies are looking sad these days even though when I see the kids in the hood wearing them, I'm not hating. I always say, let the kids be kids! What else? For women's shoes, I'm over the CFM (come-fuck-me) platforms that females like to wear with straight-legged jeans, but that's really about it. Sorry! I'm not much of a dictator when it comes to declaring what is in and out with fashion. That's just not my thing and probably why that Fugly site is my least favorite blog on the planet. Lol--I prefer to judge in silence!

When was the last time you went to a museum?

Sgp-I think it was the Guggenheim last summer for an medieval portraits exhibit I make it more to art galleries then museums tough….

Lois: It's been a minute! I'm thinking it was for a graffiti exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, the best museum in the world! I saw graffiti, natch! It was a cool show, but I'm not sure how I feel about seeing graffiti in such a controlled environment like that. It sort of takes away from the arts' energy, to say the least. One great thing at the show was this video interview with Basquiat. I love him to pieces and that was quite the gift as I'd never seen him in anything other than photos. Very sad but also tres sweet.

What item is a must have for this summer?

Sgp-Must have item that's very lucky mag-ish…I think a plain well proportioned black V-neck tee looks good on men and women and it's effortless….

Lois: For me, I'm dying to buy a nice, long, gold chain. Not a thick dookie chain, but not a thin feminine one either. One that's got a little heft to it. I'm on the hunt for a simple sun dress or shirt dress, too. I've been wearing pants non-stop for what feels like years and I feel like it's time to femme things up a little and show some leg.  I also want one of those severe-looking, high-waisted secretary skirts that's so tight that you can barely walk in 'it!  BUT, I do want a pair of those bell-bottoms. I rebelled against them when they first hit cause I wasn't finished enjoying skinny jeans, but I've finally come around. For shoes, I've been on the hunt for the right pair of dressy white sandals for a while and sneaker-wise, there's this pair of tan Cr8tive Recs that I would LOVE to own.

You have mentioned that scarlet jo has a great rack, on that note, who has the best boobs in the world?

SGP-did I really??…maybe that was Lois, honestly I don't really look at women's boobs…

Lois: I thought about this question while I was running today and couldn't think of any other celebs except Penelope Cruz and Selma Hayek and they lose points with me cause their racks are totally fake. However, I do think M.O.B. designer Leah has a gorgeous set of girls and now that she is pregnant they are probably beyond amazing and quite possibly the best in the world.

Chevy Chase is hilarious. What is your favorite Chevy Chase film?

SGP-Is he really?? I have not seen anything of his in a while….

Lois: I can't think of a Chevy Chase film that made me laugh all that much. What movie did you think was hilarious? Fill me in!

[For the Record, everyone who works at Nakashon loves Fletch]

How fast can you run a 10k?

SGP-I have no clue…I've never done it…..

Hhm… hmm….. I don't run I walk...

Lois: I run a lot, but I'm not that fast. It's practically a walking pace, but I do a mile in about 12.5 minutes. A few times a week, I run around Prospect Park in Brooklyn, which is pretty challenging. The hill is a killer!

What's next for CWK?

SGP-Plenty of good stuff but nothing we can divulge right now let's just say there will be plenty more of us to go around…

Lois: A bunch of stuff, but we're keeping it under wraps for now.
