Nate, incredibly, has founded two of the internets best things. One is www.hugeinasia.com, which chronicles his time learning about Asia (or as Christobal calls it the "Orient"), racing locals and producing top 10 bangers in Hanoi. The second is rap dialectic, a program that turns battle rapping on its head and infuses humor in a genre that has lost its spark. In both cases, Nate explores the possibilities of entertaining the masses through multiple platforms and pushes the boundaries of what is normally accepted.

Recently he spent 10 minutes in a cramped internet café to share some thoughts with nakashon.

How did you come up with the concept for Huge in Asia?

After graduating, all I knew is that I wanted to travel and create something that I could look back on and think to myself, "That was weird."  My boy Kai and I had been talking about making a documentary about Vietnam war vets going back to visit battle sites, but when we realized exactly how long that project would take we switched to plan B, which was try to become famous for its own sake.

Were you expecting such a big response? I hear you have had some newspaper coverage.

Ghostride the Volvo really spread like an STD at the university of santa barbara, so most of our press has come from that.  The San Francisco Chronicle decided to cover us after a reporter saw "a little bit of himself" in our antics.  We've also been in a few college dailys and msnbc.com.  I haven't expected any of it and it's been incredibly cool.

What attracts you to the vlog platform?

Right now, the world of vlogging has no rules because no one really knows how to make money off of it.  It's an atmosphere that allows for a lot of creativity and surprising amount of people watching.

Is Vloging the future?

How horrible is the word "vlogging" by the way?  I don't know the answer to this question.

We usually ask our interviewees the following question: Who has the best boobs in the world? You seem more qualified to answer the question, who has the best boobs in Asia?

Nikki Cox, great boobs, that's just the first set that comes to mind.

The rap dialectic is awesome. How did that come about? What happened to battletrax.com?

Thanks, Nakashon.  The Rap Dialectic was an idea I had one time while watching Freestyle Fridays on 106&Park.  I found the concept of humans and/or fictional characters solving everyday problems through battle raps to be a pretty bizarre idea and one that I wanted to act on immediately.

Who is that incredibly talented young lady you found, and how did the song come about?

I found Kim Jo-Jo, the 16 year old rapper in "Hanoi Hustle," through a friend when I was living in Hanoi.  I remember the first time I met her, she was an hour and a half late to meet me at a cafe and I was about to leave and then I heard Young Jibbs' "Do Your Chain Hang Low" coming from someone's cell phone.  I looked up and she was coming through the door.  It was like meeting an angel.

Are you the fastest man in Asia?

Yes, absolutely.

Do you have groupies in Asia?

Naw.

In America?

I'm pretty sure I do, but most of the emails I get fail to contract the word you're, as in "your awesome" or "your my hero," which leads me to believe that most of them are underage or from Boston.

Are you now more or less famous than Gritz?

Oh god less.

Can you defeat him in a battle of wits?

No.

In boxing?

Can we use elbows and knees?  Then no.

What was the craziest arcade game you played on your travels?

I only play one arcade game and that's the old school X-men.

Did you visit Sentosa?

Um

Oddest meal you ate?

An egg that was in an awkward stage of maturation, as if god had been like, "Green light...ok, ok....red light!"

Do you think that people who travel in Asia are generally a bit odd?

There are a lot of Australians.

What's next for Nate?

Continue murking the internet, maybe with Teddy.
