Pants's World

Pants ain't no gregarious type dude. In fact, he is not really that "welcoming." This was abundantly clear last Friday night at the www.nakashon.com party. Pants, and others related to the site had a great time, don't get it twisted, but there was not a whole bunch of mingling outside the crew. generally negative demeanor had left only a fleeting memory. Anyone who has seen Fear of a Black Hat knows that some motherfuckers are predisposed to smiling and shit. Pants is assuredly not one of those people. Another example: During all-star weekend, Pants and Gritz were approached by a gaggle of hookers at PURE. One expressed to Pants that he appeared depressed (in all fairness, he was), and claimed she would "Do anything to make him happy." Sadly, the $36 in Pants's pockets were not enough for this statement to come full circle. But the seed was laid. Even prostitutes think Pants is a downer and they sleep with people for money. Interview with Chicks with Kicks

Even though we think our website is tops, we still have appreciation for the work of others. One of our favorite duos on the blog seen is the Chicks with Kicks, who live virtually over on highsnobiety.com. Why are blokes interested in women's fashion? Well, to be fair, we aren't really. But SGP and Lois tackle the issues with such good humor and an uncompromising eye for design that we just can't turn away. Their column is brilliant.

Lois writes for a variety of fashion rags, most notably for our purposes Sneaker Intelligence and the new ladies mag, MissBehave (the sister publication to Mass Appeal). She also does some other awesome and secret work related to Wall Street. Her partner (in blogging), SGP, has an extensive background in PR and Marketing and currently holds it down for RBK and does some moonlighting at Femalesneakerfreak. Defensive player of the year: Jack Ikegwuonu, cornerback, Wisconsin. Everyone loves a shutdown corner, just not everybody has one. Wisconsin does in this guy, who ran down Arkansas' Darren McFadden from behind last season in the Capital One Bowl. Can you say, "closing speed"?

Big Ten champion: Wisconsin. The Badgers have a quarterback question between Allan Evridge and Tyler Donovan, but tailback P.J. Hill is their meal ticket. The defense is outstanding and the toughest nonconference game is Washington State in Madison. Michigan plays at Camp Randall, too, and the Wolverines must play Notre Dame. Ohio State just goes to Washington and Michigan, while Penn State plays Notre Dame. So if it comes down to who weathered the nonconference schedule unbeaten, Wisconsin is the best bet.

I don't like the high expectations, it's a huge trap, but Ike is the man. Fuck Michigan
